“This idea for a new kind of “Video Business Directory” called “StopInTown.com” came to me as I was searching online for a piano to buy. I knew I wanted to buy a piano, and I had a good idea of the brand I wanted and the cost I was willing to pay, but I wasn’t sure if the business had it in stock.

You can search the internet for brands and stores and find a lot of advertising, addresses, maps and phone numbers, but of course none of them display videos of the company’s human beings working at that location.


SiT helps to warm up the customer to the salespeople, managers and business owners ahead of time, so the human factor will more easily become an asset, not a deterrence to visiting the local business. Good salespeople do offer decisive information in the buying decision, but what good is that information without customers who will drive to your place of business and talk to a salesperson?


A growing number of today’s consumers are savvy, online researchers, so by the time they drive to your store they may have already researched the details, comparisons and benefits of the brand they want. What a business provides is the atmosphere and human interaction needed to facilitate the purchase, and the SiT shopper may have already made an appointment with a certain salesperson because they feel somewhat familiar with the salesperson already. They may have seen all the videos in your listing and enter your store as a buyer who is already sold!”
